New Music Independent Artist... Biography of Witchdust
Located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
3:AM the souls alarm wakes me to compose. I walk into my music room with a coffee in hand, unaware of what new music will be created until my fingers touch the keys. Sometimes an hour is spent composing, sometimes 14 hours will go by with only a coffee in my system. I can not rest until it's done. Obsession? No......Passion? Yes.
My latest new music is Underground Dance/Dark Wave music. Inspired by life within the internet. A world of its own with everything you can imagine at your finger tips. This intrigued me. I began to write . Many people on the internet portray to be someone they are not, and many find a fufillment for an emptiness they carry in thier real lives...this intrigued me more. It amazed me the amount of romances people had on the internet. Through text and webcams, they express themselves to one another without touching. Inspired by the virtual world, I created a CD....... titled '' Hard Drive''. This new music by Witchdust is a whole new genre in itself.
Where It All Began
Classical
Music has been my passion for 35 years. At 3 years old with an old upright piano my parents bought for me,I walked to the keys and played something by ear, one finger at a time. Narrowed down into a short story....I studied 8 years of Royal Conservatory Piano. Receiving 1st and Second place for composition contests. The world of classical music was amazing to me from a very young age.
Singing
At the age of 16 I took voice lessons in Vancouver, BC.
Country
Singer, songwriter, keyboard and a little guitar...I ventured into the country music. The song 'Polished Chevy' off the 'Sarahs Eyes' CD became number 2 in Georgia USA. Had my first telephone interview with a country radio station in Victoria British Columbia Canada and performed in country bars in the Vancouver BC area.
Ambient/World/Celtic
Beautiful England United Kingdom inspired me extremely. The land, the history, the people...a whole new world once again. A creation of inner peace and tranquility poured artistically. Writing songs about the heathered fields, to wild-eyed gypsies.
