My strongest point in the Royal Conservatory of Music training was my gift of playing by ear and composing piano compositions. I struggled with theory and reading music notes but when I heard a song I could sit at the piano and play the song back easily.
This I feel is the root of my composing ability. I am able to hear the music prior to putting my fingers on the keys. Full instrumentals, I can hear where I want the violins, flutes, strings, piano, ect. It is already composed in my mind.
As a young girl my dream was to attend the Juilliard School of Music. Although this never happened. I persued my musical education by the training I was able to have as well as self taught.
When I was young I was always asked to sit at the piano and play whatever came to my head. No preparing, just let my fingers play. This was extremely easy for me to do. Classical compositions flowed from my fingers continuously.
I have had my passion for music for 37 years now. Music is my heart and soul of who I am. Composing music has been my best friend and true love all my life.
